The holidays may be adding an extra twist to your study schedule. Don’t skip Thanksgiving because of your exam, but stay on top of your goals! It’s a balancing act, but we’re here to make sure you don’t fall off. Here are a few tips to help you make the most of it all!

Stick to a plan. There are numerous reasons to have a study plan (see the B&B Study Plan Post for more!). Adjust it for family time, breaks, and unanticipated surprises. When you have the time (even if you have to wake up a bit early, or go into a quiet room for an hour), focus on studying and cut out all distractions. Then let it go and enjoy the holidays.

Remember a little goes a long way. Some things are going to be out of your control. Getting anxious on top of that won’t help. Try to avoid total black and white thinking and remember that even opening the B&B program and doing some familiar flashcards is enough to maintain the habit. It’s okay if things don’t go perfectly – don’t give up! You are adaptable.

Include your family and friends! We’ve discussed a number of times how much trying to teach and explain a topic can help with learning. You have an added challenge of trying to make the material engaging and not put Grandma to sleep. Share your passion, energy, and drive with this big goal that you’ve set for yourself!

Stay safe, stay well, we wish you all the best from B&B.
